We always stop by Valley Hardware when we visit Solvang, because they have a great selection of tons of things. We usually go home with plants, and this time we bought a new kitchen timer. They have a great selection of BBQ tools, parts, and even sauces! Lots of exotic plants, patio furniture, and even baking supplies and gift items. We have also bought birdfeeder parts & food in the past.  I really wish this Hardware store was by us in San Diego, but it’s OK because we know we can visit it whenever we are in the area.

Found our new hardware store, having just moved to the area, though to be honest, it’s really unfair to call VH&GC a hardware store, they have such an enormous stock of everything from really reasonable patio umbrellas to fine cookware and the usual nuts and bolts. It’s become our touchstone when we go into town. Easy access and the nicest people, except Judith (just kidding, she’s awesome). There are very few things they don’t have, the best selection I’ve seen and we moved here from Marin and, their prices are lower than I had expected, mostly in line with Home Depot if not less spendy and again, the people know what they’re talking about and are well informed on the products they offer. They even have my favorite orange slices (candy) by the front door. Vally Hardware ROCKS!!!!
